20130330 Coffee + Bowling | Video Log

One who always claims to prefer spending the weekend at home reading is actually going out and spending time with bunch of people doing something that are actually fun. Once more, we hit The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf at Naran mall for a coffee lovers gathering. Five of us showed up and then we went bowling (for most of us, it was the first time). I'd say a Saturday well spent.

P.S. I bought my TEDxUlaanbaatar 2013 ticket today. Have you managed to get your hands on one of those before they ran out?

20130324 Coppelia gone South | Video Log

The original plan to watch Coppelia had gone South, so why not just hang out over a cup of coffee and prepare for another week. And here is a chatter for the day. I hope it won't make anyone annoyed.

P.S. We ended up going to The Coffee and Tea Leaf for Americano and then our beloved Bossam House for Dak Bulgogi.

DANCE DANCE DANCE by Haruki Murakami | Read Log

Earth to Anu, cos she has been floating in the surreal clouds for so long with her beloved Haruki Murakami's novels. This time the item involved in crime was his 2007 novel, Dance Dance Dance.
Goodreads description: In this sequel to A Wild Sheep Chase, Murakami displays his talent to brilliant effect. The unnamed narrator, a muddled freelance writer, is 34 and no closer to finding happiness than he was in the previous book. Divorced, bereaved and abandoned by his various lovers, he is drawn to the Dolphin Hotel--a strange and lonely establishment where Kiki, a woman he once lived with, "upped and vanished." Kiki and The Sheep Man, an odd fellow who wears a sheepskin and speaks in a toneless rush, visit the narrator in visions that lead him to two mysteries, one metaphysical (how to survive the unsurvivable) and the other physical (a call girl's murder). In his searchings, he encounters a clairvoyant 13-year-old, her misguided parents and a one-armed poet.

The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle | Read Log

Recently my reading pace has significantly lowered, you'll know why later. Here is the talk on the most recent book I've finished, which is The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami.
Toru Okada is going through a difficult time. He is without a job, his cat has disappeared, and his wife is behaving strangely. Into this unbalanced world comes a variety of curious characters, a young girl sunbathing in a nearby garden; sisters who are very peculiar indeed; an old war veteran with a violent, disturbing story. Okada retreats to a deep well in a nearby house. And the story unfolds.
